Pork, Glorious Pork

I’m gonna take this opportunity to share with you this beautiful piece of free range pork belly that was cooked for me and my man by a couple of good friends. It was a free range, local pig and it was fabulous! Cooked for an hour and a half after being rubbed with Chinese five spice and then served up with a Chinese vegetable and noodle stir fry. Then there was the crackling; perfect!

I guess i’m just using this to highlight how we need to respect our food, particularly meat (and where it comes from) and celebrate it rather than take it for granted. This was a beautiful bit of meat that was sourced from a high welfare animal and cooked perfectly to do it justice.

Thank you Roxy and Andy for the wonderful meal and Thank you ‘Pig’.
